Today, Motherhood is....
Today Motherhood is letting my coveted Life Cereal get soggy to find Thomas the Tank Engine's coal car. My reward was the biggest hug ever. I mean the kind of hug with little arms wrapped tightly around my neck, hands dug in my hair and a wet kiss on my cheek. Nothing better, and totally worth it.

Motherhood Is....
So many times I find myself not enjoying my children. I have to admit it, and even when I type it I feel the guilt heaping on. Motherhood is a tough gig! I am at that phase again when someone older and wiser says the, "Oh enjoy them now, it goes by so quickly..." and I think, Really???? as they are screaming, whining etc. I am aware of how blessed I am, what a gift my boys are to me and I love them with all my heart, but sometimes it is hard. In a season of my reacting to them yet again and not parenting out of grace filled love for them, I am taking my thoughts captive! No more of this self pity for the stage I am, parenting them truly is a privilege, so I am committing to every day thinking of just one thing (I know I could come up with more) but just one thing that sums up the blessing of motherhood in my day.....
So Day 1
Motherhood is ... drying my hair before waking up boy #3 because he doesn't like to hold it when it is cold and wet, but he likes to kiss and play with mommy's hair when it is dry. :) So taking the extra time to dry it early in the morning is a blessing.

the comments from Heidi at the beginning of this were priceless for me today, just the reminder I needed to hear.

The article link above is so great. If you are thinking of homeschooling, or are homeschooling, I think you may like this one!

Reading List Update
Well my Summer reading is moving right along. I have finished the wonderful Sense and Sensibility, it is always a favorite. I also read through a series by Katherine Herman that I picked up at the Christian Library in Lancaster. When there I picked up another of her series for my light reading. Speaking of light reading I finished Leaving by Karen Kingsbury and cried my way through it. Presently I am devouring A Mt. Vernon Love Story by Mary Higgins Clark. I think I may have read this before, but I love American History so I am enjoying it again and it is a good side companion to The Real George Washington.
As for my Kindle vs Nook decision, it is still oncoming....and the Ipad has entered the room. I am not sure if I want to spend this kind of money on a reading device, I love books. I like the idea of convenience in a world where 3 boys occupy so much of my mind....but again, not sure if the money is worth it. Oh well, time to make the decision, no pressure at all, which is good.
As for today.....we bowl. I love the Kids Bowl Free Program.....the boys are excited to spend some time with their cousins. They are also spending a lot of time watching a decomposing bird in the back woods....oh the joy of boys! I am thinking I am going to need to purchase some type of skeleton kit, because they desperately want that dead bird to come in the house!

Summer Reading
Well now that I have my Summer Reading list underway, with much inspiration from Mt. Hope Chronicles. I am exploring the options of a Kindle vs a Nook? Any thoughts out there?? I would love access to library books, which I know a Nook offers, and Kindle should later this year. I would also like the option of being able to check my email and facebook (my adult interactions). I would love to hear any opinions.....oh, as for my first book this summer, a classic, Sense and Sensibility, you can never go wrong with Jane Austen.

Blogging seems to be a time consuming past time, but worth a third try. So facebook on the other hand, which is easy to do, has now lost my confidence. I went to log in as usual and all of the sudden it does not recognize my password. After many (and I mean many with desperation) tries, it now locks me out of my page. Upon trying to reset my password, as per their suggestion, I was told that I would receive a verification code to type in and then I can choose my new password. Well, said email never arrives, even after days. I sent them a contact email describing my problem to the best of my ability, even in with the limited questions I was allowed to answer, but I fear I will never hear from them. So now the dilemma, do I take the time to start a new page, do my over 400 friends even realize I am missing? Does anyone even care?
I have to admit, the break is kind of nice. Look, I am even here blogging :). Perhaps that was the problem after all.......
